The aim of this work is to reconsider the meaning of migratory ‘return’ in an era of increasing transnational experiences through a focus on Spanish migrants with emotional links to Spain and Australia. Underwriting the research is the idea of the impossibility of a final ‘return home’ for such migrants. This website comprises a collection of short films that present the different layers of Spanish migration narratives in relation to identity construction, the meaning of home, the complexities of returns, isolation, distance, nostalgia, and familial and generational differences.

This research received support from Destino Productions and The University of Technology Sydney (Australia), and The Ministerio de Inclusión, Seguridad Social and Migraciones (Spain)
